Can people tell which business is yours?

A five-check starting point for small-business owners and solo creators. Compare your website and main profiles, then get a short list of fixes and things to verify.

A self-check, not a website scan.
Results reflect your answers only. They do not measure Google trust or guarantee rankings, traffic or a knowledge panel.

Choose one answer for every check. If you are unsure, choose Not sure. You do not need to enter a name, email or website address.

1. Name

Is your business name written consistently on your website and main profiles?

For example: use the same chosen name, rather than Bright Studio in one place and Bright Design Co in another.

2. Description

Do your website and main profiles clearly describe the same business?

The wording need not be identical. It should agree on what you do and who you help.

3. About and author

Can a reader easily find who runs the website and who wrote its articles?

An About page identifies the business or person behind the site. Articles identify their author. If you publish no articles, check the About page.

4. Website and profile links

Do your main profiles link to the right website, and does your website link to the profiles that are yours?

Check the destination, not just the label. An old profile or a mistyped address can point somewhere else.

5. Page code

If you use Organization or Person structured data, does it describe the same real business or person?

Structured data is information in the page code that helps describe a business or person. Not sure, or do not use it? Choose Not sure. This is not a technical audit.

This checklist runs in your browser and we don’t collect your answers. The site uses analytics, and Google reCAPTCHA protects forms from spam. Both may receive standard browser data such as your IP address. See our Privacy Policy.
